Alexander Technique

This century-old awareness practice developed by actor F. Matthias Alexander is an educational approach for identifying and developing discipline over negative physical habits related to posture and movement, breathing, stress, tension and negative thinking. Suffering from a chronic loss of voice during a performance, Alexander spent 10 years observing his unconscious patterns related to posture and breath control. His study resulted in this practical system based on body mechanics and balance. Lessons are recommended in a series of 20 to 25 sessions. Training to become a teacher is three years and 1,600 hours.
