Feldenkrais
As published in Nexus - Colorado's Holistic Journal

Feldenkrais is movement therapy that identifies how we use or misuse our bodies and the subsequent effect on health. It was developed in the 1940s by Russian-born Israeli physicist Moshe Feldenkrais, who believed all of us could benefit from working with gravity instead of against it. His techniques correct poor posture and movement habits, and are useful in the treatment of arthritis, back pain, muscle injuries, and physical problems including spasticity, stress and tension. Feldenkrais is taught in private sessions, called functional integration, or in group sessions, called awareness through movement. Training to become a practitioner requires nine weeks a year for four years, the first two years of which are spent working on one’s own body.
