Also called nuad bo-rarn, Thai massage is an ancient Siamese (Thai) bodywork system designed to unblock trapped energy and improve vitality by applying pressure along the meridians, called “sen.” Although Thai massage recognizes 72,000 sen, this system focuses on ten major pathways. More than 2,500 years old, it makes up one of the four components of Thai medicine, which also include diet, medicine and herbal remedies, and spiritual or magical practices. Requirements include certification in Thai massage, massage license or certificate with specialized training in Thai massage.
